Curriculum
King’s
Academy uses the A Beka curriculum in
which all subjects reference and reverence Biblical
Scripture. The school’s benchmarks and goals are designed
using A Beka’s Scope & Sequence which align with Wisconsin
state standards.
The A Beka Book approach to Christian education
keeps learning lively, interesting, and memorable. Their
materials reflect sensible theory that is firmly anchored to
practicality. A Beka Book materials have been developed as a
result of 50 years of actual classroom experience in
Pensacola Christian Academy, one of America’s largest
and most respected Christian day schools.
Their skilled researchers and writers do not paraphrase
progressive education textbooks and add Biblical principles;
they do primary research in every subject and look at the
subject from God’s point of view. Of course, the most
original source is always the Word of God, the only
foundation for true scholarship in any area of human
endeavor. Thus their publications are built upon the firm
foundation of Scriptural truth and are written by dedicated
and talented Christian scholars who are well grounded in the
practical aspects of classroom teaching.
Additionally, in an attempt to measure
student academic achievement, King’s Academy administers the
Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS), Jerry Johns Reading
Test, and other mastery tests given at the end of each
academic year. Our students continue to perform, on an
average, at or above grade level in all basic skills.
(Of additional importance, parents have made significant
input and have been consulted to voice their opinions and
preferences for the academics at KACS.)
Our goal is to assist parents with
training Christian children who will reach their full
potential. Furthermore, these children will not only be
academically excellent, but they will also have strong moral
character.
