LaChrisa Gillespie

LaChrisa Gillespie is the dedicated principal of King's Academy Christian School (KACS), a position she has proudly held since 2019. She originally joined KACS in 2015 as the Dean of Students. Under her visionary leadership, the school has experienced remarkable achievements, including significant increases in teacher and student retention rates, enhanced daily school attendance, and an expansion of after-school extracurricular offerings.
Notably, KACS was recognized as a 5-Star School by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), highlighting the school’s commitment to academic growth and excellence. Mrs. Gillespie is passionate about fostering a Christ-centered and high-quality education that empowers every student to reach their fullest potential.


Before her tenure at KACS, Mrs. Gillespie dedicated eight years as a Dean of Students and over a decade as a master third-grade teacher, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to student development and educational excellence. Her extensive experience in various educational roles equips her to advocate effectively for the needs and aspirations of all students.
Raised in Milwaukee, Mrs. Gillespie pursued her education at Alverno College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communications and Philosophy in 2001. She later obtained her certification in Early Education from Carroll University in 2005, followed by her Master’s in Educational Leadership from National Louis University in 2015.


Beyond her role in education, Mrs. Gillespie is actively engaged in the community. She serves on the boards of Future Urban Leaders and the Metropolitan Milwaukee Alliance of Black School Educators, where she works to advocate for educational equity and empowerment within the community.
In her personal mission, Mrs. Gillespie is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment that not only promotes academic success but also emphasizes character development and moral values, ensuring that all students are prepared to thrive in a diverse and dynamic world. Her commitment to excellence and advocacy for what is best for students exemplifies her integral role as a leader at King’s Academy and in the broader educational landscape.
