Our Principal
Gina Haughton
Dr. Gina Haughton is an educator, leader, mentor, and lifelong advocate for student success who has spent more than 25 years helping students, families, and educators thrive—from elementary classrooms to university leadership and everything in between. She currently works as an independent educational consultant, previously serving and making history as the first person of color as the Head of the Upper School at the University School of Milwaukee. Additionally, she held numerous leadership roles in higher education, developed and delivered professional development and curriculum, and created and led equity-centered educational programming.
Dr. Haughton earned her Ph.D. in Leadership through Learning for the Advancement of Service in Higher Education from Cardinal Stritch University where her research focused on digital racism and equity in education. Throughout her career, she has developed online programs, led schoolwide strategic initiatives, mentored first-generation students, trained educators across the country, and spoken at conferences from Wisconsin to Hawaii. She is also a published researcher, King’s Academy board chair, and proud recipient of numerous honors for excellence in teaching and leadership.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Haughton has faithfully served as a member at Christ the King for the past 24 years. Her service has included coaching girls basketball, mentoring young women in Precious Jewels, serving as the secretary for the New Generation Youth Ministry, participating in adult praise dance, and co-leading on the usher board. Whether in the classroom, the boardroom, or the church sanctuary, she is deeply committed to uplifting and empowering the next generation.
Known for combining high expectations with humor, heart, and authenticity, Dr. Haughton believes education is not just about achievement—it’s about purpose, perseverance, and people. While her résumé includes dissertations, strategic planning, and leadership fellowships, one of her newest accomplishments may be the most intimidating of all: earning her black belt in Taekwondo in 2025.
